| The
heart of the training program revolves about experimental
research training in a laboratory directed by one of the participating
mentors. Each trainee must select a mentor and design a research
problem meeting the mentors' approval in an area of vision
that can be addressed with molecular techniques in biochemistry,
cell biology, genetics, immunology, or neurobiology, and most
likely, apply some interdisciplinary collection of these techniques.
Full-time research in the laboratory is expected to provide
a mastery of experimental design, application, and research
presentation for publication. |
